IF you are looking for my jazzfest gigs, please go to the main page, where I list them.

I drove out west last summer on a 35-day road trip, and did 20 gigs and made a tidy amount of money.  I also saw Joshua Tree and Yellowstone National Parks for the first time, and you can imagine my wonder at that.  I am doing a similar trip this July-September, and beseech anyone reading this to help me set up some house concerts.

What is a house concert?  All it takes is a decent piano, and someone with a mailing list that might have 20-30 people who would pay $10-15 for a couple of sets of high-grade piano music.  Soft drinks or beer might be included in the deal (and I help defray the cost with the money from the door).  There is no financial commitment on the part of the concert presenter.

It’s my favorite kind of gig: intimate, no hassle with clubs (smoke, noise, tvs chattering in the background, blah blah blah).  Anyway, if you’re anywhere west of New Orleans (or somewhat east, but not too far east) and know someone who might be interested, please give me a holler:

Dinah D on Gabriola Island B.C. Canada. A little of the beaten track but very cool and maybe you get gigs on Vancouver Island (Nanaimo)? Dinah D has a webpage or email me. Muriel

Tom…My wife and I in St. Louis would be happy to try to arrange to have a house party for you with enough notice…Great idea…Much Better than a club!
